The Curriculum
The extensive curriculum
offerings at Scotch Oakburn College are designed to cater for the
whole range of student abilities and interests.
They are reviewed each year
to meet the changing needs of our students.
From the Early Years,
a thorough
foundation in literacy and numeracy is a central focus, while
inquiry, critical and reflective thinking skills are continually
developing through learning activities in the
Primary Years and through
the Senior Years as
students develop greater independence in their learning.
Our Student Resource and
Extension Centre (STRETCH) offers individual courses, both in the
Primary Years and in the Senior Years, for students who are
experiencing difficulties in any of the key learning areas, as well
as a innovative programme for gifted and talented students.
Scotch Oakburn College’s outstanding TCE
results provide a measure of success of our students in
reaching their potential, but our students are also well-equipped to
be lifelong learners and the leaders in various fields of endeavour
in the years to come.
