TCE Results
Scotch Oakburn College’s
Grade 12 results for 2002 were outstanding. 30% of the year group
were ranked in the top 10% of students nationally, and 47% were
ranked in the top 15% nationally.
Every student attempting to
gain University entrance qualifications was successful. These
results, once again, clearly give Scotch Oakburn College the best
academic results of any school in the north of the state, and second
in the State after The Friends’ School.
Dux of the College for 2002,
Tony Hughes, achieved a Tertiary Entrance score of 115.4, which
placed him equal top in Tasmania, and gave him the highest possible
National ranking.
Five other students gained
TE scores of over 100: Andrew Joyce 114.8, Andrew Campbell 107.7,
Emelyn Moles 104.7, Madeline Cooper 102.8 and Jaclyn Quin 101.9.
In individual subjects, Ben
Eastman (Food Studies), Andrew Campbell (Economics) and Tony Hughes
(Physics and Chemistry), were ranked top of the State.
The
2002 Grade 12 class continued the tradition of academic excellence
in Scotch Oakburn College. They illustrated the strength of the
programme from the Early Learning Centre to Grade 12, through hard
work, and with the support of their parents and the dedication of
staff.
