The Foundation

"One generation plants the trees...another gets the shade"

The overall concept of the Scotch Oakburn College Foundation is one of philanthropy which engenders many feelings, but most emphatically those of good will and providing a lasting benefit to others.

Since its formation in 1986, the Foundation has successfully provided additional funding for the College in many areas of need, including construction of the Performing Arts Centre, the donation of land for the recent Master Plan building projects that included the Middle School and the Health and Physical Education Centre, contributions to renovations of the Junior School’s Jean Gardner Wing, Mary Fox Performing Arts Centre and Centre for Music, and the Robert Dean Senior Student Centre.

Additionally, the Foundation supports the provision of many scholarships across the College and contributes to various facility improvements.

During the Scotch Oakburn Foundation Annual General Meeting on 30 May 2012, a new Constitution was adopted by the Foundation Board, which allows for new Foundation membership at only $100 per annum, enabling the Foundation to embrace the wider College community, including current school families, Collegians, and friends of the College. Not a lot of money over a year, but a vitally important annual contribution to the needy work of the Foundation in future developments.

Additionally, Foundation Members who have already, or will one  day, accumulate donations to the Foundation that exceed $2500 now will automatically become Life Members of the Foundation.
