The Scotch Oakburn China Association (SOCA) brings together those members of our community who have an existing link with China.
Membership to the Scotch Oakburn China Association is also open to those connected to our sister School in Beijing, the Jingshan School, for members of its community who would like to explore closer connections with Scotch Oakburn and with Tasmania.
Many families at Scotch Oakburn College have lived in, or have commercial relationships, with China.
They also have a deep interest in building closer ties between China and Tasmania, and between Scotch Oakburn College and the Jingshan School.
The Scotch Oakburn China Association is keen to maximise the benefits that can flow from these new relationships across a range of areas – the College, its Community members, and even more broadly, to Northern Tasmania.
Membership of SOCA is open to all families at Scotch Oakburn and the Jingshan School.
During the Jingshan School’s visit in May 2016, the Scotch Oakburn China Association, in conjunction with the Australia China Business Council (Tasmanian Division) hosted a dinner in honour of the occasion, and the staff leading the delegation were all made honorary members of the Scotch Oakburn China Association, including Past Principal Fan and Principal Qiu.
We invite other members of the Scotch Oakburn and Jingshan School communities to join the SOCA by registering below.
