The Tasmanian Youth Orchestra (TYO) is running an exciting new program in northern Tasmania.

The program will operate throughout the school year, with workshops being held in each of Launceston, Devonport, and Burnie during Terms 1, 2, and 3. Then, in Term 4, comes it will feature “all-in” ensemble workshop in Devonport, giving students the opportunity to experience the big sound of a large orchestra, and learn more about ensemble performance.

Young musicians between the ages of 10-20 years old to participate. There are no auditions required for this program, but the workshops will be aimed at students at an AMEB Grade 2-5 level.

Registrations for the Term 1 ensemble workshops and details are as follows:

Saturday 16 March (Devonport), 1.00 pm – 3.00 pm with guest mentor conductor, Yoram Levy (TSO)
Sunday 24 March (Launceston), 1.00 pm – 3.00 pm with guest mentor conductor, Gwyn Roberts (Queensland)
Sunday 31 March (Burnie), 10.00 am – 12.00 pm with guest mentors, Ben Castle and Amberley Bremner (Melbourne)
