As a part of our Year 10 elective program, some students are involved in the ‘Life Skills for Work’ course. As the name suggests, students develop a range of skills from finance, first aid, and entrepreneurial skills, as well as the ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a real work environment.

In the coming weeks, students will have visits to TasTAFE and the University of Tasmania as well as financial and social media advice from volunteer parents of the school experienced in these areas.

I need your help. I am looking for members of our Scotch Oakburn community who would be willing to come and share experiences with these enthusiastic students. It could be cooking on a budget, starting and running your own business, basic sewing skills or even sharing experiences around what it takes to focus and succeed.

If you would like to know more or would love to share some experiences/ activities with the students, please make contact via email at or phone 63363401.
