This week Year 8 students of Japanese were able to test out their spoken Japanese skills in a real-life situation by ordering many different types of food and drink at the pop-up Sakura Restaurant in Café 8.

Being able to order food in a foreign language is an extremely important skill when travelling.  All students were successful with their ordering and it was pleasing to see many students being really adventurous with their food selections.  Not surprisingly, okonomiyaki was a big hit and equally popular were chicken sushi and green tea.

The Japanese teachers were suitably impressed with the willingness of students to try new foods.  Many thanks must go to Mrs Takata for cooking the okonomiyaki and Akemi for all her help.
