As the school year draws to a close the Junior School is abuzz with excited learners from Early Learning to Year 5, along with their families,  celebrating a wonderful year of new discoveries, skill development and personal growth while at the same time looking forward to the new opportunities, friendships and adventures that await in 2020.

This week the Prep and Year 1 cohorts wowed their friends and families with Christmas celebrations highlighted by a strong sense of togetherness and spontaneous enjoyment of learning. Their music, public speaking and self-belief as learners in front of large audiences made these events very special moments for all who were present.

The Early Learning Erina 4-5 year olds brought similar joy to a gathering of families in Claremont Park, a setting which has been an integral part of their learning and fun together right through the school year.

On Thursday evening Year 4 students, supported by Year 2,3 and 5 musicians, led our Family Carol Service in a packed HPEC@Elphin. The confidence, flair and skill of the singers, storytellers and readers was a testament to an outstanding year’s growth and learning.

As this news is being published, the Year 5 ‘Class of 2019’ are farewelling the Junior School at their Final Assembly with family and friends in the Horton Auditorium as they look to embrace 2020 in the Middle School.

On Monday this year’s Early Learning Elphin group, the youngest students at the College, will celebrate the end of the first stage of their learning in the school environment with singing, games and a picnic together on the Elphin Campus.

All Junior School learners have much to be grateful for and to be proud of in the memories created through our shared experiences across an action-packed school year. Thank you to all who have contributed to the learning and life of the Junior School in 2019 and best wishes to all members of our community for a happy and safe Christmas and New Year holiday season.
