Due to Ben Green taking up the role of Head of Middle School in 2021, the College recently advertised the role of Deputy Head of Junior School. After an appointment process that involved short-listing and interviewing both external candidates from around Australia and internal candidates, I am pleased to announce that Fiona Auton (currently our Year 6 Coordinator) has been appointed as the Deputy Head of Junior School, commencing 1 January 2021.

Fiona has had a variety of experience in a number of teaching and leadership roles at various schools, as well as commercial experience beyond education. In education, Fiona has lived experience in primary and lower secondary teaching and curriculum development, pastoral care and wellbeing, restorative practices, school strategy and improvement.

Fiona also takes a very active role in her own professional learning and is currently undertaking further study at the University of Tasmania in educational leadership, to support her extensive experience.

In her current role as Year 6 Coordinator, Fiona has developed a wonderful sense of ‘team’ amongst her colleagues and led the development of that year level’s curriculum.
Fiona is very excited about the role and I look forward to seeing her flourish in her new role.
