Senior Debaters visit Parliament House

On Tuesday 31 October, the 2023 Parliamentary Plate senior debating winners were invited to tour Parliament House, attend Question Time and have lunch with The Speaker and Deputy Premier in the Parliamentary Dining Room. It was a valuable insight into the day-to-day workings of our state parliament and an opportunity to learn more about the history of government in Tasmania. Sam Jones (Team Captain), Chelsea Byerley, Hamish Fyffe, Kulani Somarathna and Stephanie Dunphy were able to meet, and speak with, politicians and government staffers and to see our politicians in action debating the issues of the day. We are grateful to The Honourable Mark Shelton and The Honourable Michael Ferguson for their invitation to Parliament and their time during the visit.
