LACHIE WRIGHT – THANK YOU
June 2023 marks 40 years of service by Lachie Wright at Scotch Oakburn College – all as Head of Junior School. It is on this milestone occasion that Lachie has decided that he will retire from his post and commence the next stage of his career.
If the role of a leader is to bring out the best in those whom they lead, then Lachie has done that unerringly for the past 39 years. The achievements, programs, changes to education and continual improvements that Lachie has brought to the Junior School during his tenure are too many to list; to name only some would do a disservice to the others and so I won’t highlight any here.
Apart from being seemingly indefatigable, he has been a constant presence at the Junior School over the past 39 years. He is the face of the Scotch Oakburn College Junior School and that presence has provided reassurance to the multitude of colleagues, students and families he has witnessed passing through the Elphin gates.
There will be time to congratulate Lachie in person, both informally and formally, in the future. For now, I am sure all members of our community will join me in congratulating Lachie on what has been a stellar career and know that the next 12 months will be a wonderful culmination to the career of an amazing educator whom we have been incredibly fortunate to have at our College.
