Wednesday 31 March saw the 2021 House Athletics Carnival held at St Leonards in glorious conditions. After running two separate carnivals in 2020 at Scotch Oakburn Park and the swimming carnival earlier in the term being split into age groups, it was great to have the whole Senior and Middle School together at one venue, competing in their House groups.

This year we had several records in the program, and I would like to congratulate all students that achieved a record. View a complete list of new records here – Senior and Middle School Inter-House Athletics Carnival 2021 records. Congratulations also to our age champions and runner up age champions for 2021.

Obviously, a carnival of this size does not happen without our staff and volunteers that assist on the day. I would like to thank our grounds and maintenance team for setting up and bringing the equipment to St Leonards, our House Heads for organising their teams, Liz Gray for volunteering for the 3000m and the carnival, Amanda Hardwicke for transportation of many students, Michelle Stevenson for the results submission and the hours that go into structuring the carnival and adapting to the new format, as well as Paul McKendrick and Cale O’Keefe for coordinating the track and field.

With our closest carnival in a very long time, final placings were – First place Fox House, second place Briggs House, Dean House third and Nance House fourth.

Lastly, all students are congratulated for their efforts and extremely high participation rates on all events on offer.
