NATIONAL EMERGENCY MEDAL RECIPIENT
I am very pleased to announce that our Chaplain, Rev Grace, has recently been notified that she has received the National Emergency Medal for her work with the Victorian Bushfires. The National Emergency Medal was established by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Letters Patent and National Emergency Medal Regulations 2011, approved by the Queen, on her visit to Australia in October 2011.
The National Emergency Medal is an operational service medal that recognises significant or sustained service to others in a nationally significant emergency.
The selection process and stringent criteria for these awards take some 18 months with final approval and sign-off by the Governor General.
Rev Grace will be presented with her award at a ceremony in Melbourne in due course.
I take this opportunity on behalf of the College to congratulate her on this significant achievement award in recognition of her wonderful service.
