Today in the Penquite Round Square meeting, we recognised Sexual Assault Week. In appreciating the sensitive nature of this topic and the age groups of our students present, the topic was primarily contained to viewing Grace Tame’s acceptance speech when receiving the Australian of the Year Award. In addition, and to add context to the presentation in terms of recognising the support that courageous victims of sexual assault require, the avenues of support for victims were also provided. Students were also encouraged to speak to an adult if they wished to discuss any part of today’s presentation.

The other topics discussed were the Ration Challenge, to raise money for refugees, and the current Round Square virtual conference, ‘Cultures of Round Square’ hosted by Gut-Warnberg Schule, Germany, which is for 10 – 12-year-olds. Other conferences will be advertised in due course.
