We need your help in developing a new Round Square project! A flag display is to be installed on both the Penquite and Elphin campuses to represent the diversity of backgrounds amongst families at Scotch Oakburn College and to remind us of our interconnectedness with the international community, in accordance with the Internationalism IDEAL of Round Square. Each flag displayed will represent the backgrounds, ethnicities and countries of birth of the Scotch Oakburn community.

The display will not only be appreciated by the students, staff and the community of the College, but by the international exchange students we welcome throughout the year – whether this is through a Round Square exchange or any other kind of visit. Each time a student visits us from a country whose flag is not currently displayed, will we ask them to ceremonially add their flag as a representation of the ties we have across the globe.

Scotch Oakburn’s current records indicate that we have families representing the following countries:

Canada, Chile, China, England, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Kenya, Macau, Malaysia, Monaco, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, The Netherlands, United Kingdom, United States of America.

If your family represents a nationality or ethnicity not listed above, we would love to know about it. Complete this form or contact us at Alexandra.Phillips.20@my.soc.tas.edu.au or Theo.Ives.20@my.soc.tas.edu.au.

We hope to make the display as diverse and comprehensive as possible and your contribution would be greatly appreciated!
