Last weekend Scotch Oakburn participated in the annual Launceston & Henley Regatta. All our rowers from U13 to Open competed at the weekend against rowers from Launceston Church Grammar School and St Patrick’s College. All up our rowers won 19 trophies which included the Open Rowers Aggregate Shield, Senior Boys and Girls Eight’s races, Senior Boys and Girls Fours, U16 Girls Eight and Four, Quad races in U14 Boys, U13 Boys and Girls, Doubles in U16 Girls, U15 Boys, U14 Girls and U13 Boys, and Singles in Senior Girls, U15 Boys, U14 Boys and U13 Boys. For our U13 rowers, it was their first experience rowing in a regatta on the Tamar and they did a fantastic job and had a great time. Congratulations to all our rowers and coaches on a great weekend on the Tamar.
This weekend we have crews competing at the Tasmanian Schools Championships at Lake Barrington. I would like to wish all our rowers the very best for this weekend’s regatta. Also, I would like to thank all our coaches and parents for their wonderful development and support of our rowers this season as we quickly approach our last Regatta, the 2020 SATIS Head of the River on Saturday 21 March 2020. I look forward to seeing many of you at the last two regatta’s for the season.
