The home stretch is in sight for many of our Middle and Senior students as rehearsals for this year’s College Production, Seussical, reach their final stages. This weekend the cast will get the opportunity to put on their costumes and sing with the Orchestra for the first time – the excitement is building.

Seussical features the Cat in the Hat, who tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks”.

Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

Featuring a cast of nearly 60, this family fun musical promises to follow in the footsteps of Shrek – the Musical and will be a huge success. You won’t want to miss out.

Seussical will be performed at the Princess Theatre from Wednesday 30 August to Saturday 2 September.

Tickets are available from the Princess Theatre Box Office online, in person, or by calling 6331 0052.

This is a wonderful opportunity to support our Performing Arts students. We look forward to seeing you there.
