Staff success at 2020 Tasmanian Theatre Awards

At the recent 2020 Tasmanian Theatre Awards, members of the College’s Performing Arts team were nominated for awards in Community Theatre and Community Musical categories.

Ms Katie Hill the College’s Performing Arts Centre Coordinator is also a member of the IO Performance team.  Katie was nominated for the Outstanding Female Supporting Performance Award for her role in Anatomy of a Suicide.

Ms Denise Sam, vocal teacher and director of choirs was nominated in the category of Outstanding Female Supporting Performance her role in Encore Theatre Company’s production Strictly Ballroom.

In addition to her nomination for Outstanding Female Supporting Performance, Denise was also nominated alongside Mr Michael Stocks, string tutor, for the Outstanding Musical Direction Award for Strictly Ballroom.  Denise and Michael won this category.

Congratulations Katie, Denise and Michael on your nominations and award. The College is extremely fortunate to have such talented performers and teachers as members of the Performing Arts team.
