Tasmanian Chess Championships

Two of our students, Harry Lillywhite (Year 9) and Himash Keerthiratne (Year 8) have been named as the Best Junior Competitors in the Tasmanian Chess Championships held on the recent March long weekend. They both won the most number of games during the championships. Congratulations to our budding Chess grand masters!

Athletics Champions

Congratulations to Tom Watters (Year 10) and Bella Shaw (Year 8) for their selection in the Athletics Tasmania State Team to compete at the upcoming Australian Track and Field Championships at Sydney Olympic Park 26 March – 3 April 2022.

Tom is competing in the U17 Men high jump and 110m hurdles in Sydney.  Tom was state champion for both the U18 and U20 Men high jump and U18 Men 110m hurdles at the recent Tasmanian Track and Field State Championships held in February 2022.

Bella is competing in the U15 Women 800m and 1500m in Sydney.  Bella was also state champion for both of these events at the Tasmanian Track and Field State Championships in February.  Bella also set a new record for the U14 Girls 1500m in a time of 4:56.90 at the South Launceston Little Athletics Centre Championships at the St Leonards Athletics Track in March.
