On Friday 25 August over 30 Scotch Oakburn students from Year 7 to TCE competed virtually in the annual Tasmanian Hanyuqiao Chinese Speaking Competition.

The students spent the three weeks prior to the competition preparing and practising, being supported by their teachers of Chinese, Mrs Lei Sun, Miss Anni Zhang Mrs Lutong Cordell and Mr Leigh Cordell. The students did an excellent job, and all demonstrated a very high standard of confidence and linguistic ability.

It is impressive that all the students had the courage to compete in a competition using a language other than English; well done to all the students involved!
