Thursday 18 March saw the Tasmanian high school surf league carnival held at Preservation Bay, Penguin.
The College sent the team of Grace Culhane (Year 8), Asha Dawe (Year 8), and Lachlan Frame (Year 10).
The carnival featured a variety of events and Grace, Asha and Lachlan performed well in each event on offer and in particular the board rescue. Without having the required number of 4 competitors of the same gender, I was super impressed with the student’s attitude to meet other students from participating schools who were left out of teams from their own school to join our competitors to make up numbers.
The willingness to compete and enjoy the day was evident and I congratulate our students on their courage, effective communication, and inclusive and collaborative behaviour throughout the carnival.
Next year we hope to send a larger team to the event and Lachlan Frame has again put his hand up to help organise the team.
