It is extremely pleasing to be able to announce the results of the recent Tasmanian Japanese Speech Contest where over 300 contestants from around the State competed.  This enrichment activity gave students an opportunity to use their spoken Japanese skills.  Year 7 students prepared and delivered a self-introduction about 20 sentences long, while the Year 8 students delivered a memorised speech about “My Place – Tasmania”.  Year 9 students delivered a pre-prepared speech, which they constructed themselves, about what they did last Saturday. All students worked hard for this event and perhaps the hardest part was being videoed, as entries were via video.

Year 7 students: Annie Laws –  Honourable Mention, Olivia McLeod – Honourable Mention

Year 8 students: Emily Atherton – Participation, Erin Grubert – Participation, Makaela Fulton – Participation

Year 9 students: Lincoln Giasli – Honourable Mention, Elise Kingston – Third Place

Congratulations to all participants for their efforts.
