Farewell Year 12.  While today marks the end of formal classes, we all know, it is not over yet!  Exams are still to come!  This week we have been able to acknowledge the class of 2020 for the contribution they have made to Scotch Oakburn College in their time here. In farewelling our Year 12’s, we have had a final House meeting on Tuesday, ‘wear your name Wednesday’ with a Year 12 House breakfast followed by the Leavers’ House Cup (activities in the gym), ‘wet Wednesday’ and barbecue lunch.  On Thursday, as is the tradition, the Year 5’s at the Elphin Campus held a very moving Chapel Service in the HPEC for those that attended the Junior School.  The Leavers’ Assembly was held in the HPEC this morning, followed by a light lunch with parents being able to attend.

Year 12 have been excellent role models, they have every reason to be proud of their efforts.  This year has certainly thrown us all some curveballs, but it also has been a year that we have found strength and shown resilience. Many of our Year 12’s are ready to leave but that is not a bad thing.  It means that we have done our job here at school and are feeling well-prepared for that next step, even if they are a little nervous about the uncertainty.

We wish the class of 2020 the very best of luck in their future endeavours.  I would like to thank Mrs Joy Russell, the Year 11 and 12 Co-ordinator and the Heads of House, Mr Tim Batten, Mrs Katy McGuiness, Mrs Jane Gregg and Ms Kate Gard for their wonderful organisation and support of our Year 12 leavers.  I would also like to acknowledge Katie Hill, VJam, the admin staff and works team for their expert assistance with the events.
