Our Year 8 exchange program has begun this Semester, with 23 Scotch Oakburn students involved in two-week reciprocal exchanges to various schools across Australia and New Zealand. This Round Square opportunity encourages students to step outside their comfort zone and embrace the IDEAL of Adventure, as they connect to new people and experience new environments beyond Tasmania.

We have recently hosted two students from Scotch College, Perth and their exchange partners will travel to WA next week. Speaking with Zander and Elliott (pictured), as they prepare for their upcoming exchange, feelings of anticipation and excitement are brewing. Zander shared that he is looking forward to meeting his exchange student’s family and getting to visit another school. Whilst Elliott is keen to reconnect with his exchange partner and share their common interest in fishing.

Currently we have Scotch Oakburn students on exchange at Newcastle Grammar School and next week we look forward to welcoming students from Matthew Flinders College, Queensland. During upcoming assemblies exchange students will present to the Middle School to share their experiences and highlight some of the similarities and differences between their school environments, as well as providing insight into the different tourist opportunities they explored. We look forward to hearing about their adventures.
