Rowing

The Scotch Oakburn Rowing Program is a high-performance summer sport offering students the opportunity to train and compete in one of Tasmania’s most demanding and rewarding disciplines. Centred around teamwork, resilience, and personal growth, the program includes early morning training sessions, regattas, and camps such as the Senior Rowing Camp at Lake Rosebery, which provides uninterrupted water and a unique adventure experience for students.

Students represent the College in major events including the Head of the River and SATIS regattas, with the program designed to foster leadership, discipline, and camaraderie. The program is supported by experienced coaches and staff, and includes structured safety protocols, risk assessments, and wellbeing considerations. Leadership roles such as Rowing Captains are appointed annually, with Year 12 students taking on mentoring and ambassadorial responsibilities within the team.
