From 2026, Community Service Events will form part of our Service and Leadership co-curricular program, giving students opportunities to support meaningful community initiatives while developing skills in teamwork, leadership, organisation, and communication. From 2026, major College Events will be offered as co-curricular opportunities as part of the Service and Leadership Co-curricular category. This means students can actively contribute to key moments in College life that showcase community and service events while developing teamwork, leadership, organisation and communication skills. Where applicable, involvement in approved events will contribute to the Years 7–12 co-curricular points requirement, recognising genuine commitment and participation.

Library Monitor Program

The Library Monitor Program is a voluntary lunchtime activity for students in Years 6–12, with Year 6 able to join in Semester 2, requiring attendance once per 10-day cycle. The program introduces students to essential library skills such as shelving, circulation tasks, and using the computerised library system, while also developing workplace skills including customer service, problem-solving, and responding to basic enquiries. Readers’ Cup

Readers’ Cup is an academic extension program that promotes a love of reading and supports the College’s Year 5–10 literacy program. Teams of four to six students read a set of six texts, complete a quiz, and present a creative response—Primary teams respond to one text, while Secondary teams respond to three or more, following rules similar to Tournament of Minds. Scotch Oakburn College Big Band is a high-energy jazz ensemble that brings together talented student musicians to rehearse and perform a diverse repertoire of swing, funk, soul, and contemporary jazz.
