TEACHER – LEARNING SUPPORT
We are seeking a part-time Teacher – Learning Support to join our team on a maximum term contract for the periods of Monday, 4 May – Friday, 7 September 2026.
In this key role, you will provide essential academic support and guidance to secondary school students, helping them to reach their full potential.
Through a collaborative planning model these students are provided with adjustments to participate and progress through the curriculum within an inclusive model. Adjustments to teaching and learning assist the student in the classroom along with Learning Support Assistants who work to enhance individualised and small group learning support in the classroom lessons. Small withdrawal classes are also offered for students identified as requiring more direct instruction in literacy and numeracy.
What you will be doing
- Develop and implement individualised learning plans to address the unique needs of students with diverse learning requirements
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure seamless integration of learning support strategies
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to parents and guardians
- Maintain detailed records and documentation to track student development
- Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your teaching skills
- Foster a inclusive and supportive learning environment that empowers students to succeed
What we are looking for
- Previous experience, or a background in teaching literacy and numeracy foundation skills.
- Recognised teaching qualification and experience in a secondary school setting
- Expertise in designing and implementing effective learning support programs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities to juggle multiple priorities
- Passion for making a difference in the lives of young people and helping them reach their full potential
