A SUITCASE STORY
This Term, a Humanities and Social Science/English unit has provided opportunities for Year 6 students to be creative while developing and exploring reasons why people migrated to Australia.
The students have used historical inquiry skills to locate and research a migrant story. They then created a suitcase of artifacts and primary documents and wrote a statement about the push/pull factors of migration and migrant contribution to Australia to help them gain an understanding of the impact migration had on Australia as a nation. Students then presented there suitcase story to the class.
