A SCOTCH OAKBURN EDUCATION

more accessible to the Greater Devonport and Meander Valley Regions

We know that getting to school can be an important part of a family’s decision. Families across the Meander Valley and greater Devonport regions have told us that safe, reliable transport would make a Scotch Oakburn education more accessible. From Term 1, 2027, a dedicated bus service will connect families in the region with the College.

Choosing a school is about finding the right place for your child to learn, grow and feel part of a community. At Scotch Oakburn, students are known and supported as individuals. Through a holistic education, we encourage each student to become the best version of themselves, developing their learning, wellbeing, relationships, interests and sense of contribution.

That learning happens in the classroom and beyond it: in the performing arts, Education Outdoors, sport and service. As a connected Early Learning to Year 12 College, Scotch Oakburn offers a community and an education that can grow with students over time.

Academic scholarships

TESTING COMES TO DEVONPORT

For the first time, families in Devonport and the surrounding region will be able to sit Scotch Oakburn College’s academic scholarship testing locally.

Scholarships are available to new and current students entering Years 5–12. They recognise students who achieve strong results in academic testing and are keen to contribute to College life. Awards provide between up to 50% off tuition fees and boarding for eligible boarding students.

Testing will take place in Devonport on Monday 22 February 2027.

A DIRECT, COLLEGE-SUPPORTED JOURNEY

The confirmed route will depart from Latrobe, stop in Sassafras, Elizabeth Town, Deloraine and Westbury, then travel express to the College. The service will begin in Term 1, 2027, with travel planned around the College day.

Students will travel directly to the College without transferring between services. The afternoon service will depart from College grounds, helping students get home safely and conveniently.

Student safety and care are central to the service. The bus will be owned and branded by Scotch Oakburn, with College-supported drivers. Students will travel under the College’s Code of Conduct and behaviour management framework.

The fare is $4.00 per trip from Latrobe and S3.50 per trip from Deloraine.

A Safe and Secure Journey

ADDED REASSURANCE
FOR FAMILES

The service will use RollCall, a bus attendance and safety system that helps families stay informed about their child’s journey.

When the bus is operating, parents and carers can view its live location through the RollCall Parent App or web portal. Students tap on when they board and tap off when they arrive at the College or their afternoon stop. Parents can set up notifications to let them know when their child has tapped on or off the bus.

Families also use RollCall to book a seat and view or manage bus bookings. Junior School students receive a bus pass card and retractable lanyard; Middle and Senior School students use their existing College ID card.

shaped by listening to families

MAKING SCOTCH OAKBURN MORE ACCESSIBLE

Families across the region told us that transport was one factor affecting whether a Scotch Oakburn education felt possible for them. Their feedback also asked us to consider a route connecting Deloraine with Exton, Westbury, Hagley and Carrick.

After considering this feedback, the confirmed service will include a Westbury stop. We hope including Westbury will assist families there and in nearby communities.

OUR COMMITMENT

Our commitment is to make a Scotch Oakburn education more accessible across the greater Devonport/Latrobe and Meander Valley regions. We welcome interest from all families throughout the region.

We’ll keep listening to families and reviewing the service as it gets underway to help shape its future.
