College Choir

Year Level: Year 6 – 12

College Choir at Scotch Oakburn College is a vibrant co-curricular vocal ensemble open to students and staff across campuses. The choir rehearses weekly and performs regularly at major College events and concerts. With a focus on inclusivity and musical growth, the choir welcomes all experience levels and fosters confidence, collaboration, and a love of singing. Participation strengthens community spirit and showcases the College’s commitment to the performing arts through a diverse repertoire and shared performances. The current focus of this choir is Musical Theatre Songs.

Concert Band

Concert Band at Scotch Oakburn College is a large instrumental ensemble that brings together woodwind, brass, and percussion players to rehearse and perform a wide range of musical styles. The band plays a central role in College events such as the Autumn Concert, Spring Concert, and Celebration, showcasing student talent and musical growth. Participation fosters ensemble awareness, technical skill, and performance confidence, while offering students opportunities to collaborate, represent the College, and engage with the wider community through music.

The College Production is a major biennial event staged at the Princess Theatre, showcasing student talent across Years 6–12. Recent shows include Seussical The MusicalShrek, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (High School Edition). Students engage in acting, music, choreography, and backstage roles, building confidence and creativity.

Thirteen students from Years 9 through to Year 11 participated in this year’s Japan Trip during the Term break.  Students had the opportunity to utilise their spoken Japanese skills and hone their listening skills as they navigated their way around Japan.  Many iconic places were visited: Tokyo, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima, Miyajima and Osaka. Round Square Conferences and trips at Scotch Oakburn College are transformative international and regional experiences that connect students with peers from across the globe to explore leadership, service, and global citizenship. Anchoreded in the Round Square IDEALS—Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership, and Service—these conferences and trips offer immersive learning through workshops, cultural exchange, and collaborative projects. Diversity Club

Diversity Club at Scotch Oakburn College is a student-led co-curricular group that fosters inclusion, awareness, and advocacy for LGBTQIA+ students and allies. It provides a safe and welcoming space for students to engage in meaningful conversations, celebrate diversity, and lead initiatives that promote equality across the College. Activities include assemblies, creative projects, community events like Harvest Harmony, and proposals for inclusive changes such as non-gender-specific uniforms. The club embodies the College’s ethos of “Known. Valued. Cared For.” and empowers students to be agents of positive change
