COLLEGE SPONSORS GLOBAL FUTURES COURSE

This year the College has agreed to be a school sponsor of Global Futures, a new course being written as part of the Year 9-12 Project – a collaborative, cross-sectoral project aimed at increasing student engagement.

The aim of Global Futures is to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to bring out positive change in response to significant local, national and global issues. Specifically, students who engage with this course will complete three proposed modules: Changing the Law, Changing Minds and Taking Action on the Sustainable Development Goals.

We had the pleasure of facilitating the first session of the Circle of Security Parenting program last Friday.

A key goal within the College’s Strategic Vision, Scotch Oakburn College is committed to growing community support and engagement through information sharing on specific matters relevant to them, our students, and the greater community.

STAFF MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID A PRIORITY

“R U OK?” – One very important question.

Mental Health First Aid training has become an important part of the College.  At the end of 2020, we were very pleased to be able to advise that over 80 staff from across the College were trained to provide mental health first aid in various variants of the course – Youth, Community and Workplace.  The substantial commitment that we made as a College contributed to being awarded Gold accreditation as a MHFA Skilled Workplace.
