Our students participated in the third Interschool Chess Tournament of the year recently, at Kings Meadows High School. It was a combined tournament (two levels at the same time: Primary and Secondary), and we brought two strong teams: 22 primary participants (including two Year 6 students) and 10 secondary students.

Our students behaved superbly and showed grit, enthusiasm, and fair play all day.

The Primary team won emphatically with 25 points out of 28 possible, leaving the second team, Trevallyn Primary, on 18.5 (best 4 results are counted). Out of the 22 Scotch Oakburn participants, […]

RUNNING TO SUPPORT RFDS

2026-10-02T13:57:13+10:0022 September, 2026|Categories: 2026 Term 3 Week 10|

Every two minutes, an Australian requires support from the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). For 98 years, the RFDS has provided vital healthcare to people across Australia, particularly those living in rural and remote communities.

In addition to emergency retrievals, life-saving medical assistance and inter-hospital transfers, the RFDS provides essential services such as GP appointments, dental clinics and mental health consultations. The RFDS receives government funding, but they also rely on donations to bridge the gap and continue to provide Australians with these essential services.

This October, I will be running 87 kilometres throughout […]

My experience in Tasmania has been filled with new activities, different experiences and plenty of opportunities to push myself outside my comfort zone.

I’ve spent a lot of my time meeting and connecting with some of the most welcoming and enthusiastic people I’ve ever met. There aren’t many […]
